University of Victoria Transgender Archives
The Transgender Archives at the University of Victoria is committed to the preservation of the history of pioneering activists, community leaders, and researchers who have contributed to the betterment of trans, non-binary, and Two-Spirit people. Since 2007, we have been actively acquiring documents, rare publications, and memorabilia of persons and organizations associated with activism by and for trans, non-binary, and Two-Spirit people. Our records span over 160 meters or 530 linear feet (1.5 football fields long), go back over 120 years, and are in 15 languages from 23 countries on six continents. Our collections comprise the largest trans archives in the world. We are accessible to everyone, free of charge. -
Sexual Minorities Archives
The Sexual Minorities Archives (SMA) collects, preserves, protects, and makes accessible the literature, history, and art of all sexual and gender minorities of all races and ethnicities, including transsexuals, transgender persons, lesbians, gays, bisexuals, intersex persons, queers, gender-queers, cross-dressers, BDSM/leather folk, asexuals, polyamorists, celibates, and other emerging sexual minority groups. The SMA is national in scope and is one of the oldest and largest LGBTQI archives in the United States. The SMA seeks to inform, educate, and inspire the LGBTQI community and our allies to understand the unique stories and experiences associated with our lives and our struggles for equality. -

The Leather Archives & Museum is dedicated to the compilation, preservation, and maintenance of leather, kink, and fetish lifestyles. Our museum galleries serve to present educational and historical material to an adult audience. Our reading library and archive serve to support researchers and community members in accessing materials and documentation relevant to the history and culture of leather. -
Chicago History Museum
The Chicago History Museum’s Archive and Manuscript holdings document significant aspects of life in the city, suburbs, region, and state from 1683 to the present. Totaling more than 20,000 linear feet of holdings, the Archives and Manuscripts collection also includes material related to American history that document the nation’s development from the 1770s to the 1870s, encompassing the founding of the nation, the struggle over slavery, and the Civil War. The Archives and Manuscripts materials consist of unpublished materials including correspondence, diaries, business and financial records, meeting minutes and agendas, membership lists, research notes, scrapbooks, scripts, sermons, speeches, and more. -
Yale University Digital Images Database
The Manuscripts and Archives Digital Images Database (MADID) contains digital reproductions of photographs posters drawings text documents and other images taken from the research collections of Manuscripts and Archives Yale University Library. These images comprise only a small percentage of the department's holdings being those requested by departmental patrons over the past several years. -

Published books pamphlets archives posters photographs and film and sound recordings are completely free to view. An expanding collection of video interviews with individuals who presently or historically identified as lesbian. Queer Zine Archive Project
The Queer Zine Archive Project (QZAP) was first launched in November 2003 in an effort to preserve queer zines and make them available to other queers researchers historians punks and anyone else who has an interest DIY publishing and underground queer communities. Our mission statement has been consistent over the past nine years: 'The mission of the Queer Zine Archive Project (QZAP) is to establish a 'living history' archive of past and present queer zines and to encourage current and emerging zine publishers to continue to create. In curating such a unique aspect of culture we value a collectivist approach that respects the diversity of experiences that fall under the heading 'queer.' The primary function of QZAP is to provide a free on-line searchable database of the collection with links allowing users to download electronic copies of zines. By providing access to the historical canon of queer zines we hope to make them more accessible to diverse communities and reach wider audiences.' -
Outhistory.org
OutHistory.org was founded in October 2008 by Jonathan Ned Katz author of the groundbreaking Gay American History (1976) and other books on the history of sexuality. When the Internet became part of the everyday life of millions – even billions – of people in the 21st century Katz understood that the work of archiving establishing LGBTQ chronologies and highlighting new discoveries begun in Gay American History should continue on a digital platform.
