description
The Rainbow History Project collects, preserves, and promotes an active knowledge of the history, arts, and culture of metropolitan Washington DC’s diverse LGBTQ+ communities. Their main projects include recording oral histories, honouring community pioneers, conducting research projects and public panels, and collecting documents, manuscripts, and photographs for permanent storage (which are housed at the DC History Center). They also make their collections accessible online via a digital archive.
