description
The Integrity, Inc. Collection, the National Steering Committee for Dialogue on Human Sexuality: Human Sexuality Survey Questionnaires Collection, and the Records of the National AIDS Memorial (NAM) are part of the larger Archives of the Episcopal Church. Integrity, Inc. is the national organization of gay and lesbian Episcopalians and their friends and families, whose records comprise the Integrity, Inc. Collection. The National Steering Committee for Dialogue on Human Sexuality was a grassroots organization (sometimes referred to as “the Whittaker Committee” and was a response to Resolution 1991-A104 by the 1991 General Convention, which tasked "the Bishops and members of each Diocesan Deputation" to encourage all congregations in their jurisdiction to enter into dialogue on the complex issues surrounding human sexuality. The Records of the National AIDS Memorial, Inc. (NAM), was created to advocate for the pastoral care and recognition of those afflicted with HIV/AIDS. NAM is responsible for maintaining the Memorial Book in which names of individuals who have died of AIDS are inscribed.
